One person dies after collision involving motorcycle, tractor-trailer on Route 4 at I-70

One person died June 9 on Route 4 just south of I-70, near Marine in Madison County after a motorcycle and tractor-trailer collided.

According to Illinois State Troopers Ryan Wagand and Duane Chappell, the call came in at approximately 9:10 a.m. “Preliminary information indicates that ISP Troop 8 responded to the above location for the report of a two-vehicle fatal crash involving a red Kenworth truck-tractor semi-trailer and a blue BMW motorcycle,” he said. “The driver of the motorcycle, 70-year-old male from Overland, Kansas, was transported to the hospital but later pronounced deceased. Both lanes of traffic were shutdown but have since been reopened. There is no further information.”
