Editor • Now that district students and most of the faculty are out of the buildings for summer break, maintenance projects have shifted into high gear, as described by Brian Mattingly, Triad’s director of facilities at the district’s June 22 board meeting.
At Triad High School, the following work happened:
All-Purpose Erectors completed the installation of the new stadium lights on June 8, according to Mattingly.
“Mr. Deatherage and I will be meeting with Musco for training to go over the full capabilities of the system but the lights are fully operational at this time,” he told the superintendent and the board. He said he and another person went to the stadium on June 18 in the evening to check out the new light show for the first time.
“We put some music on and we were rockin’…it was a concert out there,” he quipped. “I’m very excited to show everybody the finished product out there, even if you want to come out there after the meeting and have me turn it on.”
He said the new football stadium scoreboard is still on track to arrive in July and it will be ready in time for football season.
Tech Electronics completed the installation of the new fire suppression devices. Final testing of those devices is scheduled to take place in July.
Metro East Soft Wash completed the pressure washing of the front and east sides of the school. “I cannot tell you how big of a difference that made. The cleaning has really brightened up the building and we look forward to working with them again in the future,” he said. He added it’s possible that the same company could pressure wash other district buildings later this summer.
JEN Mechanical continues to work through the career-technical education (CTE) area of the high school. “We expect approximately three more weeks of work,” he said. “Once complete, we will have replaced 30 valves serving 15 fan coil units.”
Work at other Triad schools:
Material installation on Marine Elementary School’s roof has been completed and crews are finishing the flashing work. “We expect to close out this project by the end of [this] week,” Mattingly said.
The Henning Tile Project has been completed. The Triad High School tile replacement is nearing completion and should be wrapped up by the end of [this] week, Mattingly said.
Mayer Landscaping continues to make progress on the school bus parking lot expansion across Creekside Drive from Henning Elementary School. “Multiple sections of concrete have been poured and the project remains on schedule for completion during the first or second week of July,” Mattingly said.
The district’s next board meeting is July 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the administration building, located at 203 E. Throp St. in Troy.
