Coldwell Banker Brown agents continue flag tradition in Highland for more than 20 years
By William A. Napper • For more than 20 years, agents from Coldwell Banker Brown have continued their long‑standing tradition of placing American flags throughout the heart of the community, decorating the downtown square, roundabout and the area surrounding the agency’s office on US 40.
This annual effort, now a familiar sight in Highland, is carried out entirely by volunteers from the local Coldwell Banker Brown team and their families. What began over two decades ago as a simple gesture of civic pride has become one of the community’s most recognizable patriotic displays.
Flag Placement Crew — 2026
- Participating agents:
Jane Duft, Connie Winkeler, Sue Holzinger, Sarah Miller, Monny Sandifer and Diane Korte‑Lindsey
- Children assisting:
Nora Miller, Memphis Miller and McKenzie Rexford
- Agents unable to assist this year:
Craig Wieseman, Jeff Waters and Wayne Sackett — all of whom have assisted in past years and remain part of the tradition.
