TROY — Earlier this year, Lewis & Clark Community College landed the commitment of Triad’s Ella George.

The future Trailblazer said of the move, “I chose Lewis & Clark because it seemed like the best choice for me, I was still contemplating on if I wanted to play another four years so I chose to go to a 2 year and L&C was awesome. I loved the environment and the girls.”

With Lewis & Clark, George will compete at the Division I level of the NJCAA. The program also competes in the Mid-West Athletic Conference along with the likes of Illinois Central and Lincoln Land Colleges.

“Being able to play collegiate soccer means a lot to me, it shows to me how far I’ve gotten in my soccer career and makes me feel proud and excited for the future,” the Triad forward reacted to earning a spot at the collegiate level.

Across her ongoing career as a Lady Knight, George has netted 10 goals and four assists. She has also recorded two game-winning goals in Triad’s 6-3 start this spring.

With Lewis & Clark, she will be joining another successful program. The Trailblazers finished their most recent campaign 11-5-2 and have amassed 10 winning seasons over their last 11 campaigns.

George gave thanks to those who helped along her way to the next level, “I would like to thank my mom and dad for pushing me to play after all these years, my club coach, coach Mick Mercurio, for being a huge part in me attending Lewis & Clark, then lastly Bailey Stack–a coach that has trained me every summer since I was in the sixth grade. She pushed me past my limits and always has my back.
