ST. JACOB — Once Business Owner Zach Heidrich stepped into the building of a local Methodist Church that was for sale, he knew from the architecture that he had to have it and thus the Storybook Chapel In School House Square wedding and event venue was born.
According to information provided, the Storybook Chapel In School House Square is an event venue offering a refined atmosphere.
“We offer an elegant reasonably priced venue for weddings, receptions and other events,” Heidrich said. “A great venue for weddings and receptions, family reunions, Christmas parties, baby showers, celebration of life and more. The venue can hold between 100-120 guests.”
Heidrich purchased the building back in May from the Methodist Church, which has been a staple of the community since 1879.
“When I heard that the church was thinking about selling, I just had to see it in person and when I walked in the front doors and saw the wood floors and the sun coming through the stained glass windows at that point I just had to purchase it,” Heidrich said. “You see a lot of churches out there but today’s churches are all way too modern. They don’t have that beautiful look with the steeple and the bell that actually still works to this day. I decided to make a venue out of it. What would be better than having a venue out of an old white prairie style church.”
The open house will be held from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 28, located at 407 Jacob Street in St. Jacob.
“The open house/opening day is open to the public and vendors are welcome as well,” Heidrich said. “Vendors can contact me directly at (618) 301-6094. I will be having a cake and cookies.”
Heidrich spoke on his overall hopes for his venue and encouraged everyone to come and see inside the beautiful building.
“Overall goal is to give everyone another option for people to have their special day at a beautiful chapel with prices that are reasonable,” Heidrich said.
Storybook Chapel In School House Square is family owned and operated. Heidrich is originally from Troy and attended Triad. For more information people may email at [email protected] or call (618) 301-6094. The website is in progress, but that will be storybookchapel.net once it goes live.
