New playground equipment approved for Glidden Park in Collinsville

By Ray Popkess • Collinsville City Council authorized an agreement between the city and All Inclusive Rec at the most recent council meeting to purchase and install playground equipment at Glidden Park. 

Playground equipment has already been procured and an initial payment for surfacing has been made. This agreement encompasses the remaining scope of work, including installation of both the playground equipment and surfacing, as well as fencing.

The total project cost of $309,697.72 exceeds the established $300,000 CIP budget, primarily due to the additional expense associated with the bond requirement. Funding will be supported by the Hospitality Fund, grants and donations.

The project has been planned and supported through fundraising efforts over the past several years. With the recent confirmation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, the project now has a required completion deadline of June 30, 2026.
