Freelance Reporter • The Maryville Village Board meeting focused a great deal of attention on finalizing the TIF Redevelopment Project Area. The first action approved the amendment to the village’s original TIF area. The next action designated the Town Center TIF. The final action set the increment financing for the Town Center TIF. These actions close out steps that started in February and passed through public notices and hearings.
The board also approved a proclamation during the meeting designating Ian Roberson ‘Student Mayor for the Day.’ Ian spent the day with Mayor White attending meetings and visiting the various departments in the village. He attended the meeting with his parents, Renea Harbert and Brandt Roberson, and was presented with a certificate.

The board approved a resolution in support of municipal housing authority. The action comes on the heels of the governor of Illinois publicizing his interest in having the state oversee zoning designations in villages, cities and counties. This resolution will keep that responsibility in the hands of the village.
The final legal action came in the form of a resolution amending the employment agreement between the village and Village Administrator Tonya Flannery. The resolution amendment approved a 5% salary increase effective May 1, 2026 and the following two May 1 fiscal year starts.
The village appropriated $360,000 for the motor fuel tax maintenance program this year. These funds are allocated from fuel taxes for repairs and maintenance of streets and alleys in the village. The board also approved a bid for concrete and load charges for those projects through Concrete Supply of Illinois. Only one bid was submitted this year.

Matt helped the resident get out of the home safely. After the fire, Emilie assisted in getting donated items, lining up rides and meals and helping the neighbor get back on her feet.
