Editor • Triad officially launched the Reveal Math pilot with a virtual training session on the afternoon of June 2, as Amy Van Hoose told the superintendent and board on June 22. She is the district’s director of K-8 curriculum and financial projects.
“During this kickoff session, teachers were introduced to the Reveal Math online platform and received a general overview of the program’s structure and resources,” she said. “The training was designed to help participants become comfortable navigating the digital tools and prepare them for implementation during the upcoming school year.”
She said they participated in a couple of hours of online training so teachers could navigate the online platform then they were left with some extra training that they could do over the summer
She said a more comprehensive, in-person training is scheduled for the end of July and will provide teachers with an in-depth look at lesson design, instructional routines, assessment components and classroom implementation strategies.
Van Hoose said the district’s McGraw-Hill trainer has been instrumental in creating a positive start to the pilot. His organization, clarity and engaging presentation style have made the training both informative and enjoyable for participants. Staff feedback following the initial session was very positive and we look forward to continuing to benefit from his expertise and support as we move forward with the Reveal Math pilot.
The district’s next board meeting is July 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the administration building, located at 203 E. Throp St. in Troy.
