Highland’s Tropical Sno has served up icy treats since 1992

Eva Suhre, owner of Tropical Sno, serves up her favorite flavor combination, Surf’s Up, though blue raspberry has been the most popular flavor lately. Tropical Sno pairs natural, non-artificial flavors with shaved ice, which has a finer texture than traditional snow cones. Sugar-free options are available, too. The business, located on Sixth Street in Highland, is open from 3 to 9 p.m., seven days a week from April to September and is cash or check only. Suhre has owned the business for 34 years. “I love the camaraderie,” she said of the relationship between the community and her business. “Rodney (an employee) remembers what people like when they walk up.”
