TROY — The Triad girls bowling team kicked off their season with the Triad Invitational held at their home house, Hi Top Bowl in Highland, on Nov. 24, 2023.
The girls had a high game of 788 and a total pinfall of 2087, placing them in the middle of the standings. The top three teams were the Collinsville Kahoks, Belleville East Lancers and the O’Fallon Panthers.
On Dec. 2, the girls traveled to King Pin Lanes in Springfield, for the Abe Lincoln Invitational where they finished in ninth place. The team had a high game of 814 which included Junior Ru Fuller with a 96, Senior Clara Doubet with a 186, Junior Riley Reeves with a 126, Senior Ava Burrelsmann with a 203 and Senior Brylee Proffitt with a 203. On the day the team had a total pin fall of 4212. Additionally, Triad had three bowlers in the top 45 out of 100. Brylee Proffitt finished 11th with a total pinfall of 1109 for six games, Ava Burrelsmann finished 33rd with a 909 pinfall and Riley Reeves finished 43rd with an 843 total pinfall.
The Southern Illinois Team Challenge was held on Dec. 9, by the Belleville East Lancers at Bel Air Bowl in Belleville. The Triad girls bowled their way into the gold division finishing in 8th place. High game for the team on the day was 824 which included Freshman Maggie Wright with a 110, Junior Riley Reeves with a 157, Senior Clara Doubet with a 146, Senior Ava Burrelsmann with a 204 and Senior Brylee Proffitt with a 207. Four of the girls finished in the top 55 individually, Clara Doubet finished 53rd with a 706 Series and a high game of 132. Riley Reeves finished 39th with an 854 series and a high game of 157. Ava Burrelsmann finished 28th with a high game of 204 and a 929 series. Brylee Proffitt finished 13th with a 207 high game and a 1072 series.
Dec. 16th the girls bowled at DuBowl Lanes in St. Louis at the ShoMO Invitational. Taking a seventh place finish in the gold division with a team high game of 938 which included Riley Reeves with a 204 game, Ru Fuller with a 127, Clara Doubet with a 194, Ava Burrelsmann with a 202 and Brylee Proffitt with a 211. Six of the girls finished in the top 50 individually. Senior Brylee Proffitt finished third with a total pinfall of 1168, Senior Ava Burrelsmann finished 17th with a total pinfall of 1053, Junior Riley Reeves finished 26th with a total pinfall of 956, Senior Clara Doubet finished 32nd with a total pinfall of 682, Ru Fuller finished 35th with a total pinfall of 661 and Freshman Lilly Wright finished 43rd with a total pinfall of 236.
The Triad girls will continue the second half of their season in January with several upcoming tournaments as well as multiple matches.
