Triad Girls Bowl in Sectionals, 1 Headed to State

TROY — Four girls from the Triad varsity girls bowling team bowled at Sectionals held at S.I. Bowl in Carterville, on Saturday, Feb. 10.
The girls saw a lot of competition with over 90 girls vying for a top 5 individual spot. Senior Ava Burrelsman had a high game of 162 and a total pin fall of 940, Junior Ru Fuller had a high game of 202 and a total pin fall of 923, and Senior Clara Doubet had a high game of 159 and a total pin fall of 870. They each had a decent day on the lanes but were unable to reach the top 5. Senior Brylee Proffitt bowled her way to a 3rd place finish sending her to state. Brylee had a high game of 221, and a total pin fall of 1198 for six games. She will travel to Cherry Bowl in Rockford to compete in the state finals Feb. 16 and 17.
The Triad girls bowling team also participated in the Queens tournament held Feb. 7, 2024, at Poplar Junction Lanes in Highland, IL which was hosted by the Highland Bulldogs. The team finished in 6th place for the afternoon with a total pin fall of 2514. Triad had two bowlers finish in the top 15 with Senior Brylee Proffitt finishing 2nd. Bowling a high game of 226 and a total pin fall of 647. Senior Ava Burrelsman finished 12th with a high game of 236 and a total pin fall of 563. Also, bowling was Senior Clara Doubet with a high game of 152, Junior Ru Fuller with a high game of 184, Freshman Maggie Wright with a high game of 137, and Freshman Olivia York with a high game of 140.
