St. Jacob Board Approves Pay Raises

by Stephanie Malench

ST. JACOB — The St. Jacob Village Board met on March 20 and spent the majority of the meeting in closed session, where they approved annual employee pay raises.

There were no updates from the Water and Sewer, Ordinance and Finance, Public Grounds and Building, or Streets and Lanes/Motor Fuel Tax committees.

Police Chief Gary Kukla reported 11 tickets were given since March 7 and $962 in fines.

The homecoming committee met on March 19 and plans are coming along. The beer tent will be the only tent this year since the Moose will not be providing food, only the food trucks.

The only other report was by Public Works. Replacement of water meters located in home or apartment basements was scheduled to begin March 22. Repair of cracked sidewalks throughout the village has also begun. EPA came and performed their regular inspection of the water tower, and the village is waiting for the report.

The next meeting is April 3 at 6:30 pm.
