Kahok volleyball beats Metro East

COLLINSVILLE — The Collinsville boys volleyball team was able to win one of their three matches last week. 

East loss

Collinsville hosted Belleville East in an SWC matchup on April 30 with the Lancers taking a 25-15, 25-7 win over the Kahoks.

The Kahoks got three kills from both JuPaul Husoon and Kade Simmons with Andrew Balsitis and Stanley Carnahan having two each.

Evan Wilkinson had one.

Kolin Waligorski had seven assists with August Kent totaling four.

Balsitis had two blocks and Carnahan had one.

Simmons and Waligorski each had a service ace.

East ended up last week at 26-4 overall with the Kahoks ending their week at 8-19.

The Lancers are ranked number three in the St. Louis Metro Area by stltoday.com with Kirkwood, Mo. (Vianney) ranked first. MaxPreps has them ranked number 21 in Illinois and 209th nationally.

Metro East win

On May 1, Collinsville traveled to Edwardsville (Metro East Lutheran) and brought back a 25-21, 25-17 victory.

The Kahoks had 19 kills with Simmons leading the way with six.

Austin Zagorski had four and Waligorski had three. 

Carnahan had two as did Kenneth Diaz and Oliver McDuffie.

Collinsville compiled nine aces with Waligorski having three. Simmons and Jonathan Taylor had two each. Zagorski and Robert Freeman had one each.

Waligorski had 14 assists.

Carnahan and Taylor each had one block.

West loss

On May 2 Collinsville traveled to Belleville West but came back with a 25-18, 25-18 loss to the Maroons.

For CHS Carnahan had three kills and did Simmons. Balsitis and Hudson had two each while Taylor and Wilkinson had one.

Carnahan and Taylor had two blocks each.

Waligorski had a big night in the assist department with seven while Balsitis had a pair. Lucas Zagorski and Simmons had one each.

The Maroons were 17-9 overall after last week.

Upcoming Schedule

Collinsville was at Alton (Marquette) on Monday and hosted O’Fallon on Tuesday however results were unavailable at press time.

CHS is off until Monday when they play at Maryville Christian before hosting Alton on Tuesday. Wednesday they go to Glen Carbon to face Father McGivney.
