Triad senior Ian Dempsey has found his collegiate football home.

Dempsey, who recently committed to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, spoke about his pick, “The one specific thing is the coaches, I have been up there multiple times and each time it is the same love. They have a strong bond with the team and that is what I wanted to be a part of.”

Ian Dempsey finished his senior campaign for Triad with a new program record of 1,327 career receiving yards. The standout Knight also broke the program record for career receptions with 76 grabs across his two seasons.

He’ll look to continue his success with a Titan program that is coming off a 6-4 season. UW Oshkosh has recorded 13 consecutive seasons with a winning record.

The Titans compete at the NCAA Division III and in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Their league features eight in-state programs.

The future Titan touched on his opportunity at the collegiate level, “It means the world to me. Even though it is Division III and I can’t get athletic scholarships, it still means the world that I am able to continue and play the sport I love.”

While competing for UW Oshkosh on the gridiron, the Triad senior plans to study business to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a financial advisor.

“I would like to thank my family and friends for always believing in me, and all my coaches for preparing me and getting me to where I am today, “ Dempsey credited those around him.
