Glen Carbon Police to add new truck

By Kathy Turner • On Sept. 9, the Glen Carbon village board approved the purchase of a 2025 Ford F-150 pickup truck for the police department fleet. The cost of the vehicle, which will be purchased from Lou Fusz Ford in O’Fallon, Missouri, is $45,560. Adding police equipment and the police vehicle livery will mean an added cost of $14,914. Funds for the vehicle will come from seized assets funds. 

In other business, the board agreed to accept the low bid from GRP Wegman for electrical work at Miner and Schon parks. The bid was for $57,513.01. It will include new light switches, a fountain and additional electrical supplies to various areas of Schon Park. A majority of the funds for this project is available through Madison County park grant funds.

The board authorized a professional services agreement with Juneau Associates. In addition, they authorized a request for proposals for firms to conduct the annual audit of the village. This will be for the fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 2025 and two years thereafter. 

Finally, the board entered executive session to discuss personnel matters. The next village board meeting will be held on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. in village hall, located at 151 N. Main St.
