Selected from the FMCHS vocal music program to be part of the district festival senior mixed chorus are: Wilson Boulanger, Amalia Dorgan, Gretchen Ertel, Abby Joost and Andrew Nohl. Gabbie Wooton will be part of the senior treble chorus.
To perform in the senior orchestra during the same event are Kaitlyn Foppe, who will occupy the principal chair for “Violin 1,” and Elli Moody.
The aforementioned students may advance to the state level based on their performances at the district competition, where they will participate under the direction of skilled conductors from throughout the region and with the best representatives of other schools in the district.
The Illinois Music Education Association is the state-level affiliate of National Association for Music Education. All such groups exist for the purpose of advocating universal access to comprehensive music education, delivery of exemplary professional development for educators and providing outstanding musical experiences for students.
