Marion High School hosted the 2026 Joe Elliot Girls’ Early Indoor meet on Thursday, Feb. 26, and the Lady Knights competed at the top of the standings in nearly every event.
Triad placed second out of 21 teams at the meet, trailing only 11 points behind O’Fallon.
Ava Gallia had a strong showing in the 60m High Hurdles, taking home fifth in the prelims with a time of 10.27s. Her time of 9.99s in the finals was good enough to earn herself a third place medal and vault herself into third all-time in school history for indoor track.
Izzy Stein medaled in the regular 60m dash with a time of 7.87s. This time was good enough to earn her second place at the meet and rank sixth in the state in Class 2A for the event. Stein also competed in the 200m dash and finished with a time of 27.04s, taking home third place in that event.
Addie Field also competed in the 200m dash and barely edged out Stein in placement. Field’s time of 26.76s earned her a second place finish but she was not satisfied there. She took home first place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.87s, ranking her fourth in the state.
Maddie Schram finished just outside the podium in the 400m. Her time of 1:06.31 was a personal best and only 0.4 seconds slower than the final medalist from Collinsville, Toby Hawkes.

Emmy Goins was the only freshman to finish in the top-15 for the 800m race. Her time of 2:31.30 put her in fifth place at the event, and she has plenty of time to shake up the standings regarding Illinois distance runners.
Addison Williams finished tied at the top of the leaderboard in high jump. She and five other athletes capped out at 1.52m (nearly five feet), and Williams was the highest placer for Triad in the field events.
Triad’s 4x200m relay team earned a first place finish. The efforts from Gallia, Stein, Field and Reyna Rehg amassed to a total time of 47.91, ranking them as the second fastest team in the state and becoming the second fastest relay team in school history.
