Maryville Fire Department to buy chest compression device with Firehouse Subs Foundation grant funds
By Tribune Staff • As first responders continue serving The Village of Maryville, it is essential that Maryville Fire Department has the tools needed to respond effectively in emergencies. The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation® has recognized this need and recently awarded the department a $19,508 grant to purchase a LUCAS 3 Chest Compression System.
The new chest compression system will replace an older model that has reached its end of serviceable life. The new system contains the newest technology and will be placed in service on our new ambulance that will arrive in May. This will allow both frontline ambulances to be outfitted with the latest chest compression technology. This will also benefit our EMS providers by providing continuous and uninterrupted chest compressions during a resuscitation attempt.
“We are extremely grateful to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation and our local Firehouse Subs® restaurant in Collinsville for this vital support,” said Fire Chief Doug Dankenbring. “Having reliable, up-to-date equipment enhances our ability to protect lives and better serve our community.”
For more than 20 years, charitable donations have powered the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation’s mission to support first responders and public safety organizations nationwide. Since 2005, the Foundation has awarded more than 7,200 grants totaling over $107 million to public safety organizations.
