Miranda Williams competes at Skate Nashville 2026

By Stephanie Williams

Weeks of early morning practice and dedication paid off for Miranda Williams at her first ice skating competition. Skate Nashville 2026 was held at the Metro Parks Ice Rink in Nashville, Tennessee this past weekend, April 16-19. Miranda competed in two events, receiving first and third in the B6 category.

Williams is a fourth grade student at Silver Creek Elementary in Troy.

She has been skating for 16 months and is a member of The Rivers Edge Figure Skating Club at the RP Lumber Center Ice Rink in Edwardsville. She is extremely grateful to her coach Kelsey Beard.

In Williams’ first performance, she skated to the song “Coat of Many Colors”, the 1971 hit written and recorded by Miss Dolly Parton. The coat she wore during one of her routines was made by her cousin with fabric from her grandparent’s clothing. In her second performance, she portrayed Rapunzel.

Miranda is the daughter of Ryan and Trisha Williams.
