Royal Banks of Missouri unveils expansion plan to add Glen Carbon branch

By Tribune Staff • Royal Banks of Missouri has finalized plans to expand to Glen Carbon and will proudly open two new full-service branches in 2026.

As it aims to grow its community-focused presence across Missouri and Illinois, the University City-headquartered bank will soon debut its two newest locations, in south St. Louis County and in the evolving Glen Carbon area, located at 2413 Troy Road, within Orchard Town Center. Official opening dates for both branches will be announced soon.

“As we continue to be a premier community bank in all of our markets, we look forward to developing meaningful relationships in both neighborhoods, creating added convenience for existing clients and serving as a trusted banking partner for individuals and businesses in Missouri and Illinois,” said Royal Banks of Missouri President and Chief Executive Officer Mitch Baden.

This expansion comes at a point where Royal Banks of Missouri has re-invested in its current communities. The bank relocated its headquarters to 8550 Olive Blvd. in University City in 2025 and is currently remodeling its Saint Louis Hills location. The new branches will become two of 17 total full-service Royal Banks of Missouri locations across the St. Louis, St. Charles, Southwest Illinois and Northeast Missouri regions. The bank also operates two limited-service branches in Creve Coeur and University City.

The Glen Carbon location will be branded as Royal Banks of Illinois and will house regional commercial lending and business banking operations, which have been based in Edwardsville since 2022.

Additional details on grand openings for both locations will be shared closer to their respective launch dates.
