Family Fun Awaits at 2026 ‘Glentennial’ Homecoming in Glen Carbon June 19, 20

By Kathy Turner • This Friday and Saturday night, will see Glen Carbon hosting its 100th Annual homecoming. The event opens at 5 p.m. on Friday and will include food, carnival rides, beverages and entertainment. 

Music on Friday will feature the Well Hungarians at 7 p.m. Carnival rides will fill the park for the children to enjoy. Reduced price tickets are available at village hall through 3 p.m. on Friday. 

Saturday will feature a matinee ride event with $1 ride tickets from 3 until 5 p.m. These tickets will be available only on-site. Live music during the afternoon will feature Matt Heaton from 4 to 6. Just In Time will take the stage at 7:30 p.m.

A parade along Main Street will kick off at 5 p.m. The weekend’s festivities will conclude with an expanded fireworks display in honor of the centennial anniversary and the country’s 250th anniversary.

Food offerings throughout the weekend will feature AJs Mediterranean, Courtesy Ice Cream, Heaterz Chicken, Mexican Honorary, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Romeo’s BBQ, Solar Smoothie, Sweet Side Desserts, The Spud Shack, The Toasty Goat and Washington Kettle Corn. The carnival vendor will also offer lemonade shake-ups, pretzels, funnel cakes, corn dogs and more.
