Annual Firemen’s Picnic slated for July 10, 11 in Maryville
By Kathy Turner • The annual firemen’s picnic will fill Maryville’s fireman’s park on Friday and Saturday, July 10 and 11. The homecoming will kick off with a parade on July 10 at 7 p.m. The picnic will also feature food, drinks, games, rides and local organizations offerings such as the Kiwanis Club Cake Walk. There will be a ride matinee on Saturday from 1 to 5:30 p.m.
The parade theme is “Red, White and Woof,” with entries featuring dogs from movies, televisions and books. On Saturday, the parade will start at 6 p.m. The parade route for both nights is line-up at the village garage, go south on Lange, west on 2nd, north on Donk and back to the village garage.
Music will be featured all weekend on the new bandstand. Friday will be Pogue & Wink from 5 to 7 p.m. and Shotgun Creek from 8 to midnight. Saturday will feature Heaton Brothers from 4 to 5 and Blue Marlin at 8 p.m.
