Troy seeks input about future sidewalk project on Route 162 between Riggin, W. Clay

Editor • Troy residents and business owners, please consider taking the linked survey, which is intended to gather public information about a future sidewalk project on Route 162.

City officials are considering applying for a grant administered by IDOT to add sidewalks on 162 from Riggin Road to West Clay Street (downtown).

Route 162 itself is an IDOT-controlled road, not Troy’s. This project includes no repaving of mainline 162. Project details reveal a planned 10-foot-wide shared-use path on the north side of the road and a new five-foot-wide sidewalk on the south side. New curbs and gutters are part of the plan, as are connections to existing shared-use paths and sidewalks.

The grant would cover up to 90% of the project cost; but before applying, the city wishes to gauge public support and gather information that should be considered. The survey link is below:
