SWIC beat St. Charles Community College 2-1 on Friday and Heartland Community College 1-0 in the Central District championship game on Sunday to advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Tucson, Ariz.

The win was monumental for the Blue Storm as they upset the #1 team in NJCAA Division II and last year’s national champions in the title match. It also avenged a 1-0 loss to the Hawks earlier this season.

Collinsville graduates Mariah Siverly and Lexie Munoz are in their Sophomore season at SWIC while Morgan Rader and Sarah Henze are in their Freshman seasons.

The National tourney will be played Nov. 14-19.
