UPDATED Bulletin: Troy Fire Protection District responds to fatal fire incident

TROY — The Troy Fire Protection District responded Sunday afternoon to the scene of a fatal structure fire.
During Monday night’s Troy City Council meeting Troy Police Chief Chris Wasser gave some details about the incident.
“We responded to the 100 block of Theresa for a house fire,” Wasser said. “One of the residents was not able to get out of the house and did pass away. The Fire Marshal, Troy Fire Department, Madison County Coroner and us are working the case. We do not know the cause of the fire yet… The coroner’s office has not released the identity yet.”
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and no further information was being released as of press time. The Times Tribune will follow this story as more information is made available.
