Yanda Cabin In Glen Carbon to Host Cabin Day

GLEN CARBON — The Glen Carbon Yanda Cabin will host the annual Cabin Day on Saturday, Oct. 5. Open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Cabin will celebrate Glen Carbon’s early history.

Demonstrations of people working in historic trades such as blacksmithing, woodworking, spinning wool and sewing skills such as embroidery will be on display. There will also be music on an historic dulcimer as well as the guitar.

The Heritage Museum booth will be offering hot dogs and brats. Visitors can also support the Buck Road Cemetery by purchasing a homemade kolache. The G.L.E.N. Committee will be selling pumpkins.

Also featured will be a petting zoo with farm animals. Various crafts will be offered for sale along with activities for the whole family. The event is free and open to the public.
