IPRF recognizes Troy Fire Protection District as runner-up in 2025 member performance

The Illinois Public Risk Fund (IPRF) notified Troy Fire Protection District Captain Darren Davis that his district is the runner-up in the 2025 IPRF Member Performance Recognition Award.
Everyone plays a critical role in safety. The Troy Fire Protection District was recognized with the IPRF 2025 Performance Best in Class Runner-Up Recognition award from 671 other members of the IPRF. I have attached the letter that came with the award, which explains the criteria used to determine the award status. Please take a moment to review the letter.
“Congratulations to all, as this is no small task,” Davis wrote in an email to his entire staff. “It takes a team to manage safety and you all have done a fantastic job! Thank you all for what you do and have done to help us be a better and safer department!”
To understand what best-in-class means and the significance of being recognized as a runner-up award recipient is quite easy.
In accordance with the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), each of IPRF’s member agencies (671) are placed into a specific classifications for adequate appraisal of workers’ compensation rates for association work-related risks.
Currently, the IPR uses 14 different member types and for the Fire classifications, the Troy Fire Protection District met the funds’ performance criteria to be recognized as one of the best-in-class runner-up recipients.
