By Tribune Staff • During its July 15 board meeting, the Troy Fire Protection District swore in its new deputy fire chief and 10 full-time dual-role firefighter/EMS employees.
The fire district is pleased to announce the addition of a new Deputy Fire Chief, Wade Stahlhut, This move serves to strengthen leadership, improve operational oversight and long-term strategic planning for the organization.
In conjunction with this leadership enhancement, the district has transitioned former full-time EMS personnel into dual-role firefighter/paramedic positions. This change expands staffing flexibility and ensures trained personnel are available to respond to both fire and medical emergencies. The dual-role firefighter/paramedics are:
- Chris Jamruk
- Jason Pugh
- Jermey Lair
- Greg DeSutter
- Ty Barr
- Joe Dasenbrock
- Kevin Mennel
- Austin Scarsdale
- Faith Tarr
- Luke Lenz
Tarr is the fire district’s first female “full-time” dual role firefighter/paramedic. The fire district had previous female firefighters in the volunteer and/or paid-on-call position but not within the full-time ranks.
These organizational improvements provide several benefits to the community, including:
- Faster and more efficient emergency response
- Increased staffing versatility during fire and EMS incidents
- Improved continuity of service through cross-trained personnel
- Enhanced operational leadership, training, and incident management
- Greater overall readiness while maximizing the District’s investment in its workforce
These changes reflect the district’s continued commitment to providing the highest level of emergency services while responsibly managing resources and meeting the evolving needs of the community.
